Hello and thank you for visiting my Blog! My miniature passion lies in making houseplants, but since most are viewable on my website, this blog will often feature wonderful treasures by other artisans, with a few diversions I hope you will find interesting.

  1. YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! Finally, we get to see your gorgeous mini plants!!! They don't look miniature-they look like the real thing! And you make the pots too, right? Or at least some of them.

  2. Aw shucks, Kristy. You say the sweetest things! Now I feel badly about all the terrible things I ever said about you! LOL!

Yes, I do make the porcelain pots. I was forced into it because there were so few types and sizes of pots available and affordable on the scale I needed them. I never got around to making my own clay pots, however. The ones in the pic are from Braxton Payne.

Hey, maybe I should post some pics of the awesome pots I see on CDHM.

  3. Hi Carolyn, I am Susan :) and I came here from Kiva's blog. I think your plants are probably one of the best that I have ever seen, including the ones I saw at the Miniature Museum of Taiwan. Devil's Ivy is also called "money plant" in Singapore. They are so independent and easy and I have a pot right here at my desk :). So I am going dizzy, looking at my plant to yours and then mine, then yours, trying to tell the difference. Keep making your houseplants as I think they are of superior specimens :)

  4. Wow, Susan! Thank you so much for your wonderful compliments! They put a huge smile on my face:) I didn't know that the Devil's Ivy had another name. I wonder why it's called the "money plant"? Maybe because money is the root of all evil? LOL!

The ivy in the picture is about 10 years old, but since I made it so many new techiques were developed that make them faster than I can, so I don't think I'll make more after my stock is gone (the ivy, that is). My favorite plants are the Arrowhead Vine and the Jade, which I'll post soon. They are on my website if you want to take a look.

BTW, I was at your blog last week and I love it! It is truly unique! And thanks for adding me to your artisan list. I was so surprised to see my name!

  8. Carolyn, I am so flattered you liked my blog..lol :). I listed your name the day Kiva introduced you on hers . I am surprise you are surprise :). Don't you know you are one of the best?:):) Now that you have a blog, you will find out soon enough from your comment box.

The money plant is hardy and a climber and they make a great fengshui plant. Little maintenance, won't die etc. You make many what I thought are tropical plants more commonly found here! I have the Arrowhead and the Dracaena (another good fengshui plant). My mum has such green thumbs, her dracaena has bloomed 3 times, each time preceding a "red" (good luck) event like marriages (my sis & bro) and baby.

  9. Thank you Kiva and Susan! Boy, it's fun to visit your own blog when you find comments like yours! But alas, they cannot last because I have a limited number of plants. Once I design one, they all look the same, so no real surprises after awhile:(

Only two plants that I used as models survived from my move from Colorado to Illinois, the Ivy and the Arrowhead. The Dracaenas I now have are different, and none of them have ever bloomed, so I think I need more because my house needs more good fenghsui!
